  • What's that smell?

    An unusual smell, petroleum odor, or gaseous odor will sometimes accompany pipeline leaks. Natural Gas is colorless, tasteless and odorless unless commercial odorants is added. Sometime described as a "ROTTEN EGG" smell.

  • What do I do if I smell Gas?

    What you should DO if a leak occurs:
    • DO leave the home, building, or area of the suspected leak, and get to a safe area.
    • DO warn others to stay out of the area.
    • DO call 911 to notify police and fire officials, from a safe location.
    What you should NOT do if a leak occurs:
    • DO NOT touch, breathe or make contact with the leak.
    • DO NOT light a match, turn light switches on or off, use a cell or home phone, or do anything else to create a spark
    • DO NOT attempt to extinguish any fire.
    • DO NOT attempt to operate any valves.

Jackson, AL (March, 18, 2015) – Clarke-Mobile Gas would like to notify the public of a scam which has occurred with some of our customers.

It has been reported to Clarke-Mobile that individuals in the Jackson and Leroy areas are falsely representing themselves as Clarke-Mobile Gas employees. These individuals are calling or physically going to the businesses and homes of customers and stating their gas is in jeopardy of being turned off within 48 hours, unless an amount is paid in cash.

Please be aware of this scam and Clarke- Mobile’s company procedures.

  • All of our service personnel are required to wear company uniforms with our logo.
  • Our service men will not call a customer to work out an arrangement requiring you to meet and exchange cash.
  • All of our service personnel drive a company marked vehicle.
