Clarke-Mobile Counties Gas District

Clarke Mobile Counties Gas District (CMCGas) is a public corporation formed by the southwest Alabama cities of Jackson, Grove Hill and Thomasville in 1953, under the laws of the State of Alabama, and began operation in 1961.

OUR MISSION

The mission of CMCGas is to utilize a highly trained and knowledgeable staff to provide safe reliable delivery of Natural Gas service to the residential, commercial and industrial customers in our service area.

OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

CMC Gas is governed by a three-member Board of Directors consisting of the Mayors of Jackson, Grove Hill and Thomasville Alabama. CMCGas was originally established to provide natural gas service to residential, commercial, and industrial customers in these member cities. CMCGas is currently serving 10 Southwest Alabama cities and numerous unincorporated communities in the region.

OUR REACH

CMC Gas owns and operates 150 miles of natural gas transmission pipelines as well as 452 miles of natural gas distribution pipelines supplying service to approximately 6,500 residential, commercial and industrial customers. CMCGas's system is supplied from six interstate / intrastate pipeline connections in seven Southwest Alabama Counties (Clarke, Mobile, Washington, Baldwin,  Escambia and Wilcox). Additional supply connections include American Midstream and Big Escambia Creek production plants as well as a connection to Bay Gas Storage.
